Are there public washrooms on the trails?
There are no public washrooms on the Boom Camp Trails. Blind River Marine Park, located just 2km from the Trailhead has public washrooms available from May-September.
Where can I park?
There are two parking areas on the Boom Camp Trails. The first is at the Boom Camp Boat launch - watch for signage and be sure not to block the launches.
The second is located near the Blind River Cross Country Ski Club Chalet. At the west end of Blind River turn South off Highway 17 onto Industrial Road, proceed to Pigeon Drive, turn West on Pigeon Drive, then South over the canal to the pavilion. Watch for the large blue signs along the way!
Is there wildlife I should be concerned about? (ie: bears, wolves, etc.)
The Boom Camp Trails are home to the natural habitats of many animals. While they are cute to look at, it’s important that you be respectful of their homes. Please do not litter or feed the wildlife.
To keep yourself safe, consider hiking in groups and leaving the headphones at home so you are alert to any potential encounters with wildlife. Keep any children and family pets close by.
